Sowell: New Heroes vs. Old

Thomas Sowell, as always, is very clear in this short article about who we choose to honor as heroes. In times past, our heroes were people who did great things, especially people who innovated (and as a result, got rich from that innovation). Even though their individual innovations made them rich, the biggest result of these new ways of doing things was a better life for untold millions (billions, really).

Unfortunately, many of those who are innovating today to make our lives better get little attention compared to some who proselytize grievances; those who are the ones who tear down and demean many of those great innovators because of their wealth. The fact that so many agree with these grievance-mongers proves that envy is alive and well in America.
