As I previously mentioned in my post about Geert Wilders, there is a battle over free speech going on in Europe right now. Constitutions in European countries don't offer the same First Amendment protections that our Constitution provides to us in America. As a result, politicians and other citizens who speak honestly about the threat that Islam poses to Western Civilization find themselves under increasing risk of prosecution.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff is one such person, a private citizen who has been prosecuted in her country of Austria for hate speech. She has been bold in speaking out about the threat of political Islam to European free societies, and is raising a warning voice about more European Union laws that could further erode freedom of speech.
In a speech given earlier this week, she laid out the case for fighting to preserve free speech across Europe. Read it, and be grateful that we in America have stronger speech protections than they do in Europe (for the time being).
(And, anybody who quotes Gandalf deserves a look.)
