NASA: National Aeronautics and Self-esteem Administration

This administration and its appointees are getting more silly all the time. NASA is ostensibly a department designed and dedicated to putting men and machinery in space, right? Not so, says NASA's top dog, Charles Bolden, appointee of president Obama. In a recent interview with the Arab network Al-Jazeera, he said that among his primary goals (pushed by Obama himself), the top three were:
1. Helping children become more interested in science and math
2. Expanding international relationships
3. Reaching out to the Muslim world "to help them feel good" about their scientific contributions.

Never mind that they haven't had any contributions for a thousand years. Seriously, if given a million years to come up with a list of this guy's job responsibilities, I never would have imagined something so ridiculous. Did NASA become a branch of the State Department overnight without anybody noticing?

What?! Those objectives have absolutely NOTHING to do with NASA!!!
Nasa is "responsible for the nation's civilian space program and aeronautics and aerospace research. Since February 2006 NASA's self-described mission statement is to 'pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research.'"
I swear I'm living in the political "Nightmare on Elm Street." and can't wake up! Sheesh!
On a positive note, thanks for all your posts!
